Sleeping and Weight Loss Link

Study have shown that if one improve the quality of sleep you’re getting each night, you might just save yourself from any weight management issues and health risks.

It is known that if you’re lacking in sleep, your body produces more ghrelin.

This is the same hormone that stimulates appetite, which you don’t want.

In turn your leptin hormones are lacking. And its this hormones that aids in making you feeling full, which you want of course.

Also the lack of sleep also increases levels of the stress hormone cortisol. From this your level of fat storage around your midsection increases, which will lead to greater chance of becoming obese.

Another bad news for those who lacks sleep is that, your body tend to be ‘faulty’. It can’t manage your blood sugar regulation as well as it used to. With poor blood sugar control, you tend to crave more food, and if prolonged, you can developing insulin resistance, which you don’t want, as it can lead to type 2 diabetes.

This is not the last of the bad news now. Those who lack sleep also suffers from sleep apnea or individuals who stopped breathing while sleeping. Now who wants that eh.

So with all that, do you want to lose more sleep now? Get to bed!
