There was a time when my shoes were literally stinko each time after a few sessions of training. I would then need to clean, wash and dry it to remove the odour
Well I’ve found a way to get around it and not waste time and effort to clean it
- If you’re a cheapskate, go into the kitchen, look for bicarbonate or baking soda. Sprinkle it in your shoes to be left overnight. If its extreme case, put the shoes in a pair of plastic bag, close it and leave it overnight
- If you’ve the money, buy foot powder. Most foot powders have the compounds to absorb moisture and combat odor causing bacteria
- Our feet sweat and that is transferred to the shoes. So the inside of our shoes are a place for bacteria to run rampant. I usually get socks like Coolmax, that has moisture-wicking acrylics or polyester blends. Get to the root of the problem
- After showering or visiting the toilet, towel off the spot in-between your toes. Make sure its dry before putting on your socks and shoes
- Buy extra pair of shoes. If one is wet, let it dry fully first. Use the other pair which is dry. I usually rotate my trainers on a daily basis
