If you’re leading a stressful lifestyle at home or work, you must change as it might affect your weight. When your body is under stress, stress hormones known as ‘cortisol’ are released. It then triggers more than usual production of glucose. And when these glucose are produced, more insulin are also released to counter the high blood sugar levels. If your level of stress continues, it will results in more cortisol release and leads to imbalanced cortisol level. The extra release of glucose and insulin will cause the body to store more visceral fat. It is the type of fat which you don’t want where it causes inflammation and increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes. The only way to counter this is lowering your stress level. I would recommend exercises as it has been known to lower cortisol level. You must manage your stress, and be in control. Life is short, make it worth your while.
