List of Food Products Containing Melamine in Singapore |

Well here’s the updated list as of 30th September by AVA. Take care of what you eat people and start reading the food label! It will save you a lot of heartache and trouble
I’ve listed the Melamine tainted products in terms of Melamine level found in each product, top being the one with most quantity. It’s pretty scary to think I used to gallop White Rabbit Creamy Candy in dozens when I was younger. Hopefully back then the QA for the candy making was still in-check

The Tolerable Daily Intake (TDI) of melamine as established by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is 0.63 mg/kg body weight. This means that an adult weighing 60 kg or a child weighing 30 kg can ingest 37.8 mg of melamine and 18.9 mg of melamine respectively every day over a lifetime without any appreciable health risk.
Melamine is an industry chemical not approved for use in food manufacture. The amount of melamine found in the ten products above is higher than what can be considered as naturally occurring. It is clear that melamine has been artificially added to adulterate these products.
Consumers have to consume large quantities of the contaminated products over a prolonged period of time to be at risk of potential ill effects on health.
For enquiries on affected products, consumers can call AVA’s hotline at 63257625 during office hours (8.30 am – 6.00 pm, Monday – Friday). For health concerns associated with the ingestion of melamine, consumers can call MOH’s hotline at 1800-2254122.

I would like a list of products sold in USA that contain melamine so that I might be able to avoid them, but there does not seem to be much publicity about it. Please direct me to a site containing a list of products to be careful of. Thank you
