What is cardiac arrest – which reportedly killed Michael Jackson

Yes you might heard it by now, Michael Jackson is dead and is supposedly died of cardiac arrest.

His autopsy is still inconclusive and experts believe cardiac arrest might just have caused it.

What is cardiac arrest anyway?

A cardiac arrest, is the abrupt cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the heart to contract effectively during systole.

And what caused the heart to fail?

It can be many number of things:

1. Ischemic heart disease is the predominant cause of arrest.
2. At autopsy 30% of victims show signs of recent myocardial infarction.
3. Structural abnormalities
4. Arrhythmias
5. Cardiomyopathies
6. Infections
7. Overdoses
8. Trauma
9. Cancer

I myself am interested to know what caused the supposed cardiac arrest for Michael Jackson.

But the fact is, the world has lost a legend.
