I usually do my core before my weights session, and any workouts before/after when I’ve the time.
Why? As when you sprint, you need a very strong core to stabilize your runs, and the ability to execute a more efficient running form if you’re stronger at the core.
Below are a few examples for which I usually do. There’s are others of course, just Google it.
Very often we neglect the benefits of hip strengthening exercises, especially when training for sprints events. The strength component and the mobility of the hip area is essential for optimizing performance.
However, before going into high intensity sets of exercises with weight bearing equipment, we should start our exercises with total body weight, and subsequently increase the intensity by adding bearing equipment like medicine ball, machine or free weights.
