I’ve always contemplated going totally green in my diet but I just can’t forgo eating the tasty meat. Yes I’m totally weak. Here’s a few good reasons below why one should go vegetarian. Still its not enough to change me … yet.
- Helps to improve your health
- A low-fat vegan diet is rich in whole foods, fruits and vegetables is great for weight maintenance and energy.
- Helps alleviate the suffering of animals and save the environment.
- The consumption of animal products is linked to the development of diabetes, heart disease, gout, high blood pressure and cholesterol, osteoporosis, and cancers of the reproductive and digestive systems.
- Farm animals raises human health concern, where livestock are kept alive in crowded, dirty conditions and given antibiotics routinely which results in strains of antibiotic-resistant diseases.
- Adds to world hunger cause as the grain is used to fed the livestock instead of needed hungry people.
- Rearing livestock results in tons of animal manure yearly which can be a major polluter of waterways.
