I think I’ve tried every form of diet out there known to man and I learned it by hard its not just about the diet but a mindset change.
Still I’ve friends who swear by this diet calls the detox diet. I’m not actually convinced of its potency but I looked into it.
The criticism behind the diet is that its just an elaborate hoax by con artists to cheat you of your money to cure a nonexistent illnesses. Some doctors have even come forward stating such ‘toxins’ in question do not even exist.
Detox Diet:
- Eliminating foods such as caffeine, alcohol, processed food (including any bread), pre-made or canned food, salt, sugar, wheat, red meat, pork, fried and deep fried food, yellow cheese, cream, butter and margarine, etc
- Focusing on pure foods such as raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, raw nuts and seeds, fish, vegetable oils, herbs and herbal teas, water, etc.
- Limiting or eliminating alcohol.
- Drinking more water.
- Fasting, including water fasting and juice fasting
- Increased consumption of fish
- Herbal detox
- Special teas. Most detox teas contain ginger, milk thistle, licorice, rooibos, black pepper and dandelion, ingredients known in folk medicine as digestive aids.
So there you go, detox diet. It does have its good points as limiting processed food and the bad ones, but basically its also limiting your calories and to me that is not a balanced diet. But hey its just my opinion, but if you insist, you can try detox diet yourself.
And I must emphasise that so far medically there has been no evidence exists to suggest that detox duet method have a measurable effect. Come to think of it, why not do it naturally and let your body detox itself.
