Calcium Diet To Aid Weight Loss |


A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition recently showed that boosting calcium intake can aid in losing weight.
But it only applies to people whose diets are calcium deficient.
Universite Laval’s Faculty of Medicine had a study participants consuming on average less than 600 mg of calcium per day.
The two groups are then separated where one takes two tablets a day containing a total of 1200 mg of calcium, while the other control group takes a placebo.
It is found that those who took the calcium tablets lost nearly 6 kg over the course of the program, compared to 1 kg for women in the control group.
It is hypothesized that the brain detected the lack of calcium and seeks to compensate by spurring food intake.
And it seems that sufficient calcium intake seems to stifle the desire to eat more.
So the researchers recommend that one to consume sufficient calcium to ensure the success of any weight loss program.
