Study don’t recommend Vitamin C, E intake after workout |

It’s very confusing these days eh. So many study, the do’s, the don’t and the latest health benefits to keep up with.
Well the latest research says that taking vitamins after exercise may actually undo some of the beneficial effects of the workout.
That’s like totally not cool right … as we thought otherwise.
Scientists in the United States and Germany study found that taking vitamin C and E after a workout might undo some of the positive effects exercise has on fighting diabetes and boosting your metabolism.
It seems that insulin sensitivity was restored only in the group of men who did not take antioxidant supplements after 4 weeks and men who took the vitamins was in much worse shape.
Researchers says that, “It doesn’t mean that antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin E are bad for us, it just means that sometimes we need to consider whether taking supplements is actually beneficial. Exercise causes repeated boosts of free radicals, which – according to our results – induce a health-promoting adaptive response in humans. But you should not consume high doses on a regular basis as this can have negative effects on your body. If you stick to a healthy and varied diet, you generally get enough of the nutrients you need and you don’t run the risk of consuming large amounts that may be harmful for you.”
