U.S. dietary guidelines recommend adults get a maximum daily intake of about 2,300 mg of salt, but a recent study by Center for Science in the Public Interest found that some chain restaurants have meals that is nearly four times the amount of salt we need in a day in one single sitting.
Meals such as Red Lobster, Chili’s and Olive Garden can have a sodium content of more than 6,000mg.
Mind you, too much salt can lead to high blood pressure, potentially leading to heart attack and stroke.
The researchers suggest we avoid such salty food and choosing healthier alternatives, be it at home or when eating-out.
I know its easier said than done, but do try, its our health at stake here people.
