A study published online on Monday in The Journal of Clinical Investigation has found that drinks sweetened with fructose may in fact increase the risk of obesity and heart disease.
A controlled study by University of California found that over a 10-week period, 32 overweight men and women was given either fructose-sweetened or glucose-sweetened drinks.
Those with drinks sweetened with fructose led to higher blood levels of “bad” cholesterol, and triglycerides in overweight test subjects.
While drinks sweetened with another glucose did nothing for the test subject.
Another findings is that the fructose drinkers also had larger increases in fat inside the abdomen.
Well another findings that all points that sweets ain’t sweet for your health.
Follow me people, I’ve totally cut any sort of drinks, be it carbonated or sweetened drinks. It’s better to stick with H20.
