Researchers at University of Washington’s School of Medicine and the Department of Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System has found a chemical secreted by the muscle that control fat deposited in humans.
Called interleukin-15 (IL-15), it was shown from the findings that it reduces the growth of fat cells.
But the findings also found out that IL-15 is only released into the bloodstream in small quantities not enough to make a difference.
Mice was used as the control subject and mice with induced IL-15 genes was fed high-fat, high-calorie diet didn’t become obese.
