A recent study in Melbourne, Australia showed that interactive fat loss group sessions has a more success rate in losing or maintaining their weight loss.
The study consist of one control group of 250 mothers of young children, where half of them are receiving a single, non-interactive, health education session, while the other intervention group attended four interactive group sessions over four months.
While there’s no significant difference between groups in the weight loss, it is however observed that more women lost or maintained weight in the intervention group.
Researchers concluded both a single health education session and interactive behavioral intervention resulted in a similar weight loss in the short term, but more participants in the interactive intervention lost or maintained weight.
