Another day venturing new routes.
It’s exciting when you’re running on new paths, unknown roads and such.
Well not exactly unknown, I did plan the route before hand at maymyrun.com, but still it’s fun trying out new routes.
The route I picked today was one that’s on the big roads. So I was expecting loud vehicles, dust and such.
Furthermore I ran quite late due to long work hours, thus the vehicles on the roads today was more than usual at peak hours.
I ran around 4:04 minutes per km … quite fast eh. The reason I had a pacer in the form of a bicycle in the last part of my run.
It was a kid on mountain bike who was speeding. So I thought, what the heck, let’s do some tempo and speed workout by following him.
I think I surprised the kid by hanging on to him and even overtook him at the last stretch of the route.
The thing about running this route is that its quite isolated from residential areas.
You’re more likely to bump into dogs more than people. So that’s the only gripe.
If you’re scared of dogs, don’t follow my route today. Luckily today I didn’t have to ward off any dogs.
Especially those in packs can be fiesty. You need to stand your ground, and kick them in the ass if needed.
Today I did a different core workout. I focused more on my obliques and I did plank exercises.
