StatusPhase: 1 of 6 WorkoutType: 6x50m ThoughtsThis is the second part of the double session for today. Morning workout was sledge training. Before going for training, I had a great recovery nap. It was so great, I slept for two hours plus. Blimey yeah that’s a long nap. Getting old I reckon. Since I’m carrying my starting blocks, jogging to the stadium is out of the question. The thing weights like 7kg or so. My arms would be too ‘pumped’ by the time I reach the place and defeat my speed workout purpose. So I took the bus. With one hand carry the starting blocks long metal foundation, while the stepping blocks I put it in my sports bag. Well by the time I arrived, the weather was rather gloomy and dark. So I sticked warming-up near to the grandstand, fearing it would rain. Indeed it did as it poured later on. I was just about to start my drills when it rained. So I did my drills indoor. By the time I finished warming up, it was still raining and doesn’t look to end any time soon. So to pass the time I did abs workout and 7 seconds fast tapping. The latter was to activate my fast twitch muscle, great alternative on such rainy occasion. By the time I finished my tapping and a bit of lounging around, the rain stopped to a slight drizzle.
I took this chance to do my speed workout. I’ve always had problem with my starts and it could be better and I really need to improve on it. Looking at the photos above I’m doing it wrong. My front leg should be 90 degrees and hind leg around 130 degrees. So by looking at the pictures I took, I need to bring my butt up higher and lean forward more. I observed my body is too high up. If any experts knows better, please feel free to comment and advise. While sprinting itself, my running form is a bit wayward today. I didn’t feel ‘fast’ today and lacking that explosive feeling. I also felt I’m running sinking in, where my hips are low. Speed workout today ain’t that good today, so hopefully next speed session it will be better. Tomorrow is another day to improve.
