Today was a wet day. The track has yet to dried up and I expected my timings not to hit the target time. But I told myself I’ll try my best.
I think I’ve finalised my dynamic warmup routine. I’m comfortable with it and could close my eyes doing it. I could do it on auto-mode without even flinching.
For some people an hour of warming up is unheard of, but for me is normal daily routine. It’s not about settling for anything less or hinging on other people’s expertise and opinion, but its all about how you know your body best.
Your body will tell you what’s right and wrong. Just do it … its as easy as that.
The workout today was … how could I put it in a word … ’short’. After the fourth set, I didn’t even realise I only had two more sets to go. I kinda expected more. Probably because I didn’t feel tired.
My recovery for the first and second set was darn fast. I was out of breath for a short while only and I recovered instantly.
The third and fourth set was kinda ok. I was really focused on my running clawing and trying not to slip. Yes it was that wet and slippery especially around the bends.
The last two sets, I gave slightly extra effort, but not too much as I know I don’t want it to turn into a speed endurance workout. I pulled back when I felt that twitch in my ass.
Overall I was around 2.2 seconds behind the targeted timing, so I could do better. Well another day perhaps, today wasn’t a good day to run with the bad conditions and plenty of evening runners for me to swerve around.
