There was a gap of two days of non-training days on Tuesday and Wednesday due to work. Arrrghh I hate work, but it takes top priority.
So now that means Friday and Saturday will be double session to make up for the lost time. Bummer, I hope my body is well adjusted to the increased training load. We shall see eh.
Today was Speed Endurance and once again, I had scary thoughts of the workout.
Indeed after today’s session, it was one of the most ‘painful’ workout I’ve done in a long time. The lactic acid burning my ass, the headache from the lactic side-effect, me gasping for air … and you know what, I just love it! Hahaha yes a sadist I am.
The target time was 36.3 seconds and average wise I didn’t hit the timing, but the first set I did run below the designated planned timing.
I ran 35.6 seconds. Oh I do hope my stopwatch ain’t playing a fool with me like the last time round. Hmmm still I’m still suspicious I could run arund 35 seconds. Well I did pushed hard. Ok I shall accept the timing as it is.
The second set was a wanker, I ran 38.61 seconds. 2 seconds off the planned timing and 3 seconds off the first set. That’s not a good set as I didn’t pace well.
It should at least be within 2 seconds and below for both sets when comparing. The average for both run was 37.1 seconds. Ok not too bad, close to the 36.3 seconds target time.
By around this time, I was already panting and heaving heavily with lactic already building up. I ran from the start of the track and ends at the curve of the last bend, around halfway there to make it 250m of running distance.
The walking back to the start line which was the recovery time was excruciating of course. I had to endure the panting and tried not to think of the lactic build-up. Also the rest time of 2 minutes was just not enough time to walk back. I exceeded by a wee bit when I started the next set.
The third and fourth set was another bad timing. It was a torture session, haha. I ran 39.1 and 41.9 seconds. That means I ran out of steam and couldn’t hit the target time. I’m not well ready for this session. So more practice on Speed Endurance and cardio.
By the end of the fourth set, I just couldn’t walk straight, the lactic just shot-up my body. My ass region is numb by now and I resisted the temptation to lie down. The headache was throbbing in my head. Put all those together, I felt like I’m in labor, haha.
Ok ok ok as if I know what is it like being in labor means, but you get my drift, it was painful. I took like 15 minutes of walking and jogging to dissipate the lactic before resuming my conditioning exercise to end today’s workout.
At home I then took a nice ice-bath … that felt good! Tomorrow is weights in the morning and endurance in the evening. Sound an enticing prospects.
