Thoughts
Timings: 1:43 1:38 1:41 1:44 1:45 1:46 ~ 1:42
Today’s workout was a wet one. It rained earlier. I went for training dry and came back home totally wet.
So its another week of not hitting the timing yet again. I targeted 1:34 minutes but the average timing was 1:42 minutes. The closest timing I got was 1:38 minutes. Any faster and it would be speed endurance training, as I can feel the lactic burn after that set.
Overall I achieved the goal for today’s training. Tempo or VO2Max. I was panting like hell after each run and the recovery time kept increasing, haha. The most it went was 2:19 minutes when I should just rested for 2 minutes only.
It could be due to the wet track. Lesser grip when running can lead to slower times. I was wearing trainers by the way. Plus I ran more than 500m. The track had puddles on them, so I had to go around it.
Well maybe I’m just jotting down the ‘excuses’ as I didn’t hit the planned timing. We’ll see in the next similar session for this if I could improve. I’ll see the difference comparing a wet versus dry track, if the timings had variations.
The stadium today had a soccer match. Good for me, as lesser people was jogging on it. I think they were shy as there were spectators in the stand.
But for me, I just focused on the training and ran my sets. I guess I have a thick skin eh. Well tomorrow is speed endurance, and you know what that means. Pain pain pain!
