As of today, my aches and sore are subsiding, but it still hurts and it took plenty of time, more than usual to warm up and get the body going. Still the same sore spots, my traps and hamstring are worst hit.
But things are looking good, hopefully by tomorrow, it will be much better.
As for today’s training, I nearly didn’t make it, wanting to put it off due to my soreness. But I’m glad I didn’t. Remember how I told you peeps that I’m an easy sucker in my earlier entries. I just told myself get out of the house.
I think the battle is half won for me when you stepped out of the house as you’re making a decision to act on it, keke.
Well it was an alright speed endurance session for today. I would have thought I would ache or ‘tear my butt’ plenty today but the workout was ok.
It was 2x3x150m. I’m not sure if it’s 3 reps of 2 sets doing 150m … or 2 reps of 3 sets doing 150m. So I just did the former as it seems the harder workout. Being the sadist MOFO I am, I like torturing runs, heh.
The first set was well within my capability and timing. My butt didn’t feel the lactic yet. The second set, I went a wee bit too fast on the first run and I felt the consequences of it on the second run and the third. Now I felt more out of breath and I’m halfway there feeling my butt which is about to ‘tear’.
It’s a good indication if you feel as if your butt if about to explode. That’s a sign of speed endurance after-effects. So I’m doing something right today. But the workout to me was darn short. I’m a hard worker and need to change my mentality. You don’t need to train for long hours to achieve good quality training.
It ended in less than 16 minutes and the warming up took 45 minutes. Yup that’s the right ratio of 3:1. Well tomorrow is my second session of weights. I’ll be doing the fine tuned version of it hoping it will take less time, focusing more on quality.
