When I saw today’s program was cardio, I went to “oh boy”. Don’t get me wrong, I love long runs, in fact I was even good at it when I was younger.
But it seems as I aged, my cardio interest began to fade. And to add it up, the last time I did cardio, the next day I had an awful shin split, and was struggling to train the whole two weeks afterward.
This will be my second cardio in months in fact. I used to do it regularly when I was in the off-season preparatory phase. But now I’ve gone into specifics training, so not much of long runs.
And the coach decides to add a cardio into the mix it seems. Well as much as I was struggling to run earlier, I did managed to hit the intended distance and timing per km, around 4:54 minute per km.

Note: I’ve omitted specific details of my training. Previously I was doing and writing my own workout, thus I wasn’t hesitant to share it with other people. Since now I’m doing consistently my coaches program, it’s right and fair that I don’t disclose his workout sessions, but instead just provide a general training detail instead. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I was soaking wet by the end of the run, that’s how I can tell the endurance was a hell of a workout for me.
Earlier I passed by this outdoor restaurant and the aroma of the seafood was so enticing. I tell ya, if it’s anyone else but me, they would have stopped and had their dinner there and then, haha.
Plus this restaurant had reflective glass panels, so I can actually see myself running as I passed by it. It’s really odd to see myself as I observed this really bulky muscular person trying to jog. I felt ‘heavy’. I look more of a sprinter than a distance runner.
Well now I’m just praying, and stretching like hell now, hoping I won’t get any shin splits tomorrow. Oh please noooooo …
