Today when I left my place it started to rain. It wasn’t too bad, still it was a new challenge for me as I’ve not ran in the rain for the longest time.
Add the gusty wind, it sure was a fun and cold run. Luckily I wore an old Nike top that helps to keep my body warm, the material was specifically made for such harsh weather.
Another challenge that came my way was the route I took. There’s this stretch of jogging route that’s nearly 4km long and it’s all the way a gentle hill climb.
Oh boy was the 16 minute run earlier on that part of the route was torture. It really test you and if you’re da man (that’s my ego talking smack here) you would pull through it without stopping.
Also the pavement for that route is beside a road that’s heavily used. So the vehicles which is just a meter away from me, are moving in the opposite direction of my jogging, giving me wind resistance, another added challenge.
It gets more exhilarating when a really large truck passes me by, it’s cardio turn resistance training, as I need to stay low and keep running forward or run the risk of running off-course.
The pace today was 3:57 minute per km. Pretty fast and one of my faster runs in a long time. Maybe I run faster when it’s cold, raining and the condition wet.
