I took my usual Wednesday rest yesterday. I could have gone out doing my workout, but nah, I think a rest is what I needed. With that, today I felt great, as I felt fresh and raring to go.
The pace today was 4:22 minute per km, for a total mileage of 9.13km. At the end of the run, I still felt energetic. I think I’ve come a long way since I started my cardio program.
In my earlier cardio days, going 4km or running 20 minutes is already an accomplishment. In my mind, I’ve always considered myself as a sprinter, never a long distance runner.
I still consider myself a sprinter, as I love the power and muscles associated with it, but at least now, I’m fit enough for a half hour or 10 km run without much fuss. For a sprinter, that’s a big leap of improvement for me.
So start small, gradually build from there, and you’ll find yourself amazed at your achievement months down the road. It’s all about the little efforts done consistently over period of time.
Today again I skipped the upper body. For one, it was quite late in the evening, and I want to break my fast. Plus I don’t feel like doing any pullups, dips or pushups. Maybe tomorrow.
Again I ran on grass patches as much as I can today. It’s great for my legs as the impact is lesser, plus it works on my core stability, as you really need to balance yourself when running on the uneven trail. Try it, but do be careful of potholes.
