![]() I took a rest yesterday as my right ankle still ain’t feeling ‘right’. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Today’s workout aside from wearing an ankle guard, I tried to run on the grass patches beside the cement pavement. It’s much more forgiving to my ankle as the impact is lesser. Kinda like my grass running when I was in recovery phase when sprinting. The pace today was 4:20 minute per km. I could have gone faster but I was targeting my aerobic zone. It’s been awhile since I did heart rate training. I was able to do so today as my Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor from Amazon finally arrived today. I ordered it on the 8th of August, and it took about 10 days to deliver to where I’m staying, Singapore. The package comes with a chest strap that measures your heartbeat and the watch itself. This model has a well rated ratings at Amazon by users, that’s why I bought it. It’s pretty simple to use, I didn’t even need to use the manual to do the settings such as stopwatch, alarm, HB upper and lower limit. I just experimented and played around with it It’s the very basic of heart rate watch and I like it. Nothing too fancy. It works by beeping if I go beyond or below my targeted heart rate of 70-80%, which is the aerobic zone. I just slow down or speed up accordingly to follow the beeping feedback. It was pretty fun, very much like doing fartlek. Aside from the running, I did the usual abs, core and upper body. It seems my left forearm has this slight niggling feeling. I don’t like it. It has been there for the past week. Hmmm indeed I’m getting old, I’ll need to recover more either by diet or rest.
