Hi all, I’m back. A brand new week awaits! Don’t mind my hyperness on this Monday Blues. You know what I don’t really get this particular day when everyone is on a bad mood. To me every day is like any other day. I guess it’s how your perceive such days eh.
Since Sunday, which was my rest day, I was waiting for Monday to come, as I couldn’t wait to train. The secret to get enthusiastic about your workout and not to lose interest in it, is to visualise your training week or day in advance.
I would usually imagine what I’ll be doing the next day for my training. Lo and behold, I’ll be doing what I imagined when the next day arrives. Most hardcore and full-time athlete usually plan their training weeks and months in advance. That’s how dedicated they are. Once they put it in ‘writing’, in a way, they can’t back out of it, and must commit to it.
So there you go, a little visualization helps. Do it, and you’ll find it will motivate you even further.
As for my training today, I’ve increased my abs and core sets and reps. Upper body reps-sets however stays the same. I’ll see my condition next week if I’ll notch it up.
I went free and easy today for the cardio part. It was 4:19 minute per km. Not bad for an old man like me.
Did you know that you’ll need to hit a certain effort to lose weight. It doesn’t mean going all out fast during a run, will make you lose more weight. The effort varies for each person, for example some need 65% of your maximum heart rate effort, some higher, some lower.
As a general thumb of rule, if you’re panting too much, you’re not losing fat. Go slower. To find your suitable fat loss effort, you’ll need to go to a sports clinic, they’ll hook you up to a machine and will explain to your in details how fast should you be jogging.
