You know what, most of my clients have problems with their workout. Meaning one moment, they’re full of zest doing their sets, jogging and such, and the next, they’re trying their best to conjure that zest again, only to falter with their less than desired conviction.
Here’s my little secret. Try reciting a mantra. Something that’s unique to you and of something that is related in your case. For me my essential three keywords during my workout are, “faster, bigger, stronger”. Yeah if you’re into hip-hop, it’s from Kanye West song.
Well wherever and whatever the source of your mantra, as long as it works, just keep doing it. Once you keep saying those magical words, you’ll sense that your body is transforming itself into the mantra that you’ve been reciting. It’s the power of association. Once you associate your workouts to these words, your body will be reacting differently to it.
Try it alright …
As for my workout today, the pace was 3:56 minute per km, which is far better than yesterday. I still feel strange running in the Sembawang-Yishun area. Maybe because my crib is in Marsiling-Woodlands, I feel like-wise eh.
Some people have joked, those who stayed far North of Singapore like me, might as well be Johorians. Haha, they do have a point. I’m half-Malaysian myself.
Indeed I’m getting “faster, bigger, stronger”. My eight packs are more defined now, the upper body has more cutting, and I’m hoping to go into other specific areas of training by the end of the year. Yup cardio will lessen, time to bulk up.
